We’ve been switch things up lately and implementing more high intensity body building type stuff and all I can say is my arms were blown uppppppp after this! 💥 We’re still doing some CrossFit style workouts a couple times a week, but the change has been good. There is no reason for me to be doing heavy barbell lifts at this point in my life and my body has appreciated the change! Today’s workout was: 10 rounds: 10 bench press at 65% 1RM 10 push ups 10 cal assault bike -rest 60 sec By the end of the 10th round, I was rolling around on the ground. No barbell? No problem! 💥 • Here’s a hack you can do to make a barbell out of things around the house. In my case I used two 4 litre milk jugs filled with water and a broom stick. It’s FriYAY & I’m back with some of my favorite dynamic exercises I like to do before I start any workout! The importance of dynamic exercises is to get the blood flowing throughout your body before a tough workout! It also prevents injury, which is the MOST important thing while working out. Before I started my workout today, I did the following: Banded pulls 4x25 Banded flies 4x25 Dumbbell swing 4x25 Honestly this felt like a workout in itself... in a good way! 😂 Next time you start a workout, why don’t you give these a whirl!

Today was a milestone day in the garage gym, I ran out of weights to squat! I only bought a few thinking it would take me awhile to work back up, but here I am hitting 235 #’s. I really can say for my workout routines this quarantine has been good for me. I have started running, even went trail running yesterday with @mar.cos_a_h . Embraced the cardio all while still gaining strength and feeling healthy. All positive signs of well rounded training. Today’s shirt is the OG CrossFit gym for me. The place that I’ve been going to for the last five years and allowed me the space and forum to get healthy @cfsilverspring ! Today’s programming was supposed to be 3x2 at 425. After a rough cycle with SI issues, I finally got 405 moving again last week for singles when it was supposed to be sets of 2. This week I was DETERMINED to get that 405 for 2. Approached it without my straps because I’m generally better at deadlifting without straps because I’m a freak of strongman, and GOT IT. Also broke my blocks, so guess I’m settling for one set even though I’ve definitely got more in the tank. Upper body workout today. SAY WHAAAT?! A SPLIT! Who even are you lock!? Reason being.... It was bloody hot in the home gym today. Did not have the energy to train legs in this soul destroying heat. Will do some squats, RDLs and core work tomorrow morning. On a plus note, we’re getting a sheet to go on the roof that will beat back some the heat and glare from the sun. Should make it a cooler place to train. Kicking off the session with: Bench Press 4x8 115kg. Rows 4x8 120kg. Incline Bench 3x8 97kg. Upright Rows 1x8 50kg 3x7 65kg. Dips 3x10 BW. Barbell Curls 3x8 57kg. Bands Tricep push downs 3x10. Everything is steadily moving forwards as it should be. Will be testing my maxes soon, just to see where the absolute strength is at. Probably at the end of June. For now, just building strength instead of testing it. Enjoying the process. Keeping the core strong and really, the entire body engaged with itself head to toe will be paramount when using these suspension straps. With that said, you’ll notice that my hips are not leading the way for my upper body workout. This makes sure the tension put into the muscles is ideal and without compensation. To assist with this, keep your eyes fixed on the anchor point, especially if you’re prone to compensation patterns or are struggling with what it means to “maintain alignment”. 🟡For upper body work, the closer to the TRX your feet are, the harder the exercise will be. The further away your feet are, the easier it will be for the upper body due to more of your weight being placed into the legs. 🟡The TRX is about leverage and control. To ensure that your targeted muscles are actually serving as your prime movers through execution, (close your eyes if you want) and VISUALIZE those muscles contracting together... this cue served *exceptionally* well for a client of mine who I put on the TRX yesterday! . 💪🏼Now to get to work... **SHOULDERS WORKOUT** - - A few years ago, I slightly tore a few ligaments in my right shoulder. Finally, I am able to start really pushing them more without pain. I have adjusted my weights, fixed my form, and changed my mindset as well to focus on being able to heal and prevent future injury while continue to lift and reach my goals. - -5 sets each. Topped off my workout with a couple traps and abs as well.

Don't Just Use The Heavy Bag To Practice Punches!⁠ ⁠ Working on you're movement is a great way to change up your bag training. Movement is probably the most important part of boxing. Punching is important but your movement set up your combos and counters. Not to mention it's how you defend. ⁠ ⁠ Here I'm working on pivoting out to the side and following up with punches.
